Eco-Explorations Look for Gifts of Nature

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center’s Eco-Explorations program will take place from 10 to 11 am Feb. 21. Ever wonder why a squirrel has a bushy tail? Drop in for this month’s program, “Wildlife Gifts: For the Love of Nature,” for some bird- and squirrel-themed games, activities, and investigations.  Reservations are not required, just come. Regular admission fees apply.

Kids can be introduced to the natural environment, including birds, the way they learn best – by seeing, touching, feeling, and doing – during Eco-Explorations.

Naturalist Hester Burch will lead visitors in this hands-on exploration of the natural world of Annmarie Garden and allow children to make and take home their own pair of binoculars. The children will learn about birds, their calls, and other fun and interesting facts.

Eco-Explorations teaches children about all the things that are going on around them when they go outside, turning their attention to the spiders, bugs, leaves, flying things, and furry things that they might see. These classes give small children a unique respect for the natural world.

Children are also encouraged to bring in their own natural treasures for show and tell with Hester.

Families are welcome.

Check out the Annmarie Garden Facebook page to learn more about the program, see photos from past explorations, and get information about upcoming events.

If you are bringing a large group, contact Hester so she can best be prepared.

Other programs will be “Wonderful Weeds” on March 28 and an Earth Day celebration on April 28.
