MedStar St. Mary’s supports the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership’s Tobacco-Free Living Action Team, which will meet 10 to 11:30 am Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the St. Mary’s County Health Department.

The Marketing, Public Relations & Philanthropy Department at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown has been honored with 10 awards from the Aster Awards Program and the Healthcare Marketing Report.
Historic Preservation Group Honors Hospital
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown has been recognized for its Historic Preservation efforts. The hospital’s “Reflections,” an exhibit of historical artifacts that are related to the hospital, has been honored by the St. Mary’s County Historic Preservation Commission for its work to keep and highlight the 106-year history of the nonprofit medical facility.
Survey Needs Spanish-Speaking Volunteers
The Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership’s Access to Care Action Team has been working to develop a Hispanic Needs Survey to better assess the needs of the local Hispanic community. The Hispanic Outreach Team is looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers for a community canvassing event.
Hospital Hosting Opioid Lecture
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and the St. Mary’s County Health Department will present a lecture June 27 by Michael V. Pantalon, “Encouraging Opioid Use Disorder Treatment.”

HEAL Team Promotes Healthy Living
MedStar St. Mary’s supports the HEAL Action Team which will meet from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Health Connections at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. The Healthy Eating and Active Living Action Team of the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership brings together community organizations and residents to coordinate action around healthy eating, active living, and weight management.
MedStar Awards Seven Scholarships
Seven local students earned scholarships totaling approximately $168,000 from MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown to pursue careers in nursing and allied health.
