Update on Schools’ Summer Meal Program
St. Mary’s public schools’ summer meal service begins June 17 and continues until August 12, 2025. The school system will provide breakfast and lunch bulk five-day meal packs for children 18 and younger weekly on Tuesdays at five locations with two pick-up times.
Pre-K 4 Applications Being Accepted
Pre-Kindergarten 4 applications are now being accepted by St. Mary’s County Public Schools. All families are welcome to apply; however, income is the primary qualifier for eligibility.
Schools Accepting Applications for Academy Programs
Online applications for three St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ academy programs: Visual and Performing Arts, Global and International Studies, and the STEM Academy are being accepted. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2025.

Green Holly Honored as Distinguished Title I School
Green Holly Elementary has been named a National Distinguished ESEA/Title I school. The Lexington Park school is the only Title I school in the state of Maryland to receive the recognition.

For the third consecutive year, St. Mary’s County Public Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Kindergarten Registration Opens May 6
Registration for St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ kindergarten for the 2024–2025 school year will begin May 6 and continue throughout the summer.
