HSMP’s Last Call for Table Applications

HSMP has issued a call for applications to provide partners and community organizations the opportunity to set up informational tables at the 2018 HSMP annual meeting.
Mission of Mercy Offers Free Dental Care
Dental professionals from all over Southern Maryland will come together July 27 and 28 for the Mission of Mercy dental care event at North Point High School in Waldorf. MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown is helping to publicize the event.
MedStar Weighs in on Vape Debate
As the e-cigarette market heats up, many people believe that vaping is less dangerous than actual cigarettes. However, the vape debate has sparked new interest around the dangers of the use of tobacco products and the harmful effects of nicotine. MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown is hoping to educate the public about the potential problems of the nearly 500 brands and 7,700 flavors of e-cigarettes.
Healthy Partnership Annual Meeting Set for September
Register now for the 2018 Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership annual meeting. The meeting is set for 1 to 5 pm Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California. MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown supports the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership.

The Marketing, Public Relations & Philanthropy Department at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown has been honored with 10 awards from the Aster Awards Program and the Healthcare Marketing Report.
Historic Preservation Group Honors Hospital
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown has been recognized for its Historic Preservation efforts. The hospital’s “Reflections,” an exhibit of historical artifacts that are related to the hospital, has been honored by the St. Mary’s County Historic Preservation Commission for its work to keep and highlight the 106-year history of the nonprofit medical facility.
Survey Needs Spanish-Speaking Volunteers
The Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership’s Access to Care Action Team has been working to develop a Hispanic Needs Survey to better assess the needs of the local Hispanic community. The Hispanic Outreach Team is looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers for a community canvassing event.
