The US economy gained 224,00 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate rose slightly from 3.6 to 3.7 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ June 2019 jobs report.

Hoyer says there is good and bad news in the August 2018 jobs report — 95 consecutive months of positive job growth, yet “our economy continues to be plagued with deep structural challenges, the result of which are stagnant wages, uncertainty for small businesses, looming debt, and a generation of American workers unable to get ahead.”
