Spring Forward One Hour

At 2 am almost everyone in the United States will jump forward to 3 am and spend the next seven-plus months in Daylight Savings Time. Reversion to Local Time is usually the first Sunday in November, which this year will be Nov. 1, 2015.

The best way many North Americans can view the loss of an hour is to consider we are moving one hour closer to spring. But many of us are also  moving one hour farther away from Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, The United States Virgin Islands, and Arizona except for the Navajo Nation Community which does participate with the rest of the United States, and a good portion of Canada in DST. Although Canada has some big excluded areas, too.

Some Mexican border towns will be following the US schedule, but most of Mexico won’t move to DST until April this year.
