SMHEC Showcases Degrees at Open House
The Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, in California, MD, offers world-class education from more than 90 degree.
Ten of the universities presenting these programs will be showcased at an Open House Nov. 5, 2015, at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center campus, located at 44219 Airport Road, in California, Maryland.
The open house will include with representatives of the degree programs, including bachelor completion degrees, doctorates and more than 50 master’s degrees. Ten universities will be present at the open house.
All academic program classes are held at the center, meaning you can get your degree close to home.
New offerings include a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, for Fall 2016 and new Cybersecurity bachelor’s and masters’ degrees from UMUC. A doctorate from Florida Institute of Technology in Business Administration (DBA) is also new.
Brighten your horizons no matter where you are in your career development. Classes at SMHEC are designed for working students, so they are offered during evening hours and Saturdays. Students can take classes right here in Southern Maryland and get a degree from a world-class university at SMHEC.

The center also offers conference space for groups from eight to 430 people. The spaces can be used for training and professional development, with a space to fit every need. The rooms include a computer with access to the Internet, LCD projector and a screen, as well as a whiteboard and supplies. While the open house will focus on serving the needs of students, the SMHEC website can give you more information about the physical location of the center and how it can be used to fit your needs, or the needs of your organization.
