Builders Sought for Fairy-Gnome Homes at AMG

Annemarie Garden Fairy

Posted for Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center

The deadline is just around the corner to reserve the spot for your Fairy or Gnome House to join this year’s 6th Annual Fairies In the Garden at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center.

This is an annually awaited outdoor exhibit of fairy-gnome houses, treasured by builders and visitors as well. Houses will be placed in and around the trees and woods of Annmarie Garden’s spectacular sculpture garden as Southern Maryland enters spring and through the summer season.
Interested fairy & gnome home builders should complete this form by March 1, 2015 and send in their tentative plans by March 1, 2015. All ages and backgrounds are welcome to join the building, from beginners to professionals.

Diverse sizes, designs, and creative use of materials are encouraged! But don’t forget, houses must be constructed of durable materials able to withstand nearly sixmonths of outdoor exposure and the attention of enthusiastic visitors.

Wood glue or silicone caulk is required for adhering objects to your house structure. Nails, screw, wire, and other durable anchoring systems are highly encouraged. DO NOT use craft glue or hot glue! Apply multiple coats of varnish or other non-soluble sealant to your completed structure for protection against the elements.
