Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
Who better in St. Mary’s County to set an example to youth and young adult males in our community than you?
Walden Sierra is issuing a special request and challenge to our local male leaders to participate in this year’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes-St. Mary’s event on Sunday, April 1 from 2-4 p.m. at the Track at St. Mary’s College.
Leaders who participate will be honored in a special Leader’s Lap and media photo op at the event.
This free public event raises awareness of gender violence, rape and sexual assault and empowers community members to take a role in prevention. Male participants help raise this awareness by wearing women’s shoes to take a walk around the St. Mary’s College track. Shoes are provided, but participants may bring their own.
Participating leaders agree to attend the event and take part in the Leader’s Lap. Leaders are also invited to form a team of men (& women) to come out and support them.
