Toddlers Learn on Their Terms at AMG

Toddlers

Toddlers learn best when they can use all of their senses, immersing themselves in things they can see, smell, and even taste, but above all the things they can touch. Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center in Solomons will take full advantage of its ability to teach in creative ways as it hosts Full STEAM Ahead from 1 to 4 pm Sunday, March 13, 2016.

The free family event is a time for preschool-age children and their caretakers to visit Annmarie artLAB for hands-on investigations and challenges meant to get kids’ brains motivated to think of learning as a fun and exciting activity.

The March session is called “Fun With Fractions,” and there will be a variety of fun and wildly creative games to help kids explore, observe, ask questions, and make predictions about the world around them as they create and play.

Kids should be dressed in a way that allows them to be comfortable and get messy if they need to. This creative learning environment is meant to build a foundation for learning that is tailored especially for young children who do not benefit from sitting in a chair and being given directions, but rather from holding, touching, feeling, smelling, and tasting. Young children need to be able to stomp, clap, jump, and move while they learn, and Annmarie Garden is offering the perfect venue for that.

Join in on these fun and imaginative sessions that will get kids excited about learning. These wonderful events are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. Registration is not required, and admission to the events is free. If you are bringing a group of children, call ahead so staff can make sure there are enough activities for everyone.
