Job Growth Continues in November

The US Department of Labor’s latest jobs report shows 263,000 jobs were created in November. Though challenges remain for the economy, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said, the report should help to sweep aside the misleading narrative about the dire state of America.

Last week’s GDP report is welcome news that the US economy grew over the last three months, despite a tightening of monetary policy by the Fed to help curb inflation.

10M Jobs Added Since Jan. ’21

The US added 263,000 new jobs, marking the creation of more than 10 million new jobs since Biden took office. Also in September, unemployment dropped to 3.5%, a low not seen in more than 50 years. The unemployment rate fell across demographics, notably the Hispanic unemployment rate dropped to 3.8 percent, the lowest rate ever recorded.

“These four bills that the House has just passed take a comprehensive approach to keeping our communities safe. They ensure small and medium-sized police departments receive the federal funding and support they deserve while maintaining accountability, authorize new federal grants for mental-health crisis response, invest in community violence interruption programs that prevent and mediate disputes before they escalate, and provide additional funds to solve unsolved gun crimes and ensure justice for victims.”
