CNO: Navy 7,000 Short on New Recruits
The US Navy is likely to miss its recruiting goals this year, acting Chief of Naval Operations ADM Lisa Franchetti told the Senate Armed Services Committee last week. “We’re going to be about 7,000 short,” she said.
CH-53K Moving Toward Entry Into Service
The US Marine Corps’ CH-53K King Stallion program is preparing for its first deployment in 2025. The heavy lift helicopter recently also recently went through its second set of sea trials. The Corps continues to execute the transition from the CH-53E to the CH-53K and is on schedule to declare full operational capability in FY2029.
Navy Launches First UAS Squadron
The US Navy commissioned its first test squadron dedicated to unmanned air systems at Webster Outlying Field. The UAS trials squadron is known as Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (UX) 24.
