US Seizes Iranian Trawler, 50T Ammo

Iran is accused of  “unlawful transfer of lethal aid” after the US 5th Fleet says it seized more than 50 tons of ammunition rounds, fuses and propellants for rockets from a fishing trawler in the Gulf of Oman. The Navy says sailors found more than 1 million rounds of 7.62mm ammunition; 25,000 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition; nearly 7,000 proximity fuses for rockets; and over 2,100 kilograms of propellant used to launch rocket propelled grenades.

Rocket Lab USA intends to build a 250,000-square-foot production complex and launch pad for its new Neutron rocket on a 28-acre site adjacent to the Wallops Flight Facility.

5 Weeks, 2 Barges, 5 Tugboats. Ever Forward Refloats

The Ever Forward container ship is now afloat in the Chesapeake Bay. The operation took five weeks, two barges, and five tugboats to dislodge the 1,095-foot cargo ship after some containers were removed from the vessel.

Cargo Removal Next Effort to Float Ever Forward

Salvors will need to remove cargo containers from the grounded Ever Forward in Chesapeake Bay, the Coast Guard has determined after two unsuccessful attempts to refloat the ship. Removal of containers is expected to take about two weeks.

Mandatory Cyber Reporting in Omnibus Bill

The cyber reporting legislation would require private companies to report cybersecurity incidents to CISA and with bipartisan support has been attached to an omnibus spending bill set for consideration in the Senate Thursday following House passage. Critical infrastructure entities would be required to report a “reasonable belief” a cybersecurity incident within 72 hour, some ransomware payments within 24 hours.

Ship Runs Aground off Baltimore

The massive cargo ship, Ever Forward, has run aground in the Chesapeake near Gibson Island after leaving the Port of Baltimore en route to Norfolk, VA. The ship is owned by the same company, Evergreen, that owns the Ever Given which famously ran aground a year ago blocking the Suez Canal for several days.
