Speak to Commissioners at January Forum

Public Forum

Residents of St. Mary’s County who would like a chance to voice any concerns can attend the first public forum of 2016, hosted by the commissioners of St. Mary’s County at 6:30 pm Tuesday, Jan. 12, in the commissioners’ meeting room in the Chesapeake Building at 41770 Baldridge St. in Leonardtown.

Citizens who cannot attend the public forum in person are welcome to voice concerns via social media. Residents can post comments or questions using the hashtag #CSMCforum to the county’s Facebook page or Twitter feed (@StMarysCoGov). If time permits, comments and questions from social media will be read at the forum. It’s important for citizens to include their full name and mailing address when posting to social media as the comments will become part of the official record.

The commissioners’ public forums are televised live on St. Mary’s County Government TV 95 (SMCG TV 95) on Metrocast Cable and streamed live for online viewing on the county’s website. Click on the LIVE link at the top of the page. This feature is not available on Apple or mobile devices.

If you miss the live forum, it will be rebroadcast on SMCG TV 95 at 7 pm Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016. Forums also are available for viewing on demand on the county’s YouTube channel.

Individual citizens who wish to speak at the public forum will be allowed up to three minutes to address the commissioners. Citizens who represent groups will be allotted five minutes to speak.

Anyone wishing to provide more detailed comments may do so via email or regular mail.

The commissioners can be reached via email at [email protected] or by mail at Commissioners of St. Mary’s County, P.O. Box 653, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
