Significant Task Order Award Recognizes CTSi’s aviation expertise in CNS/ATM for C-130T

Coherent Technical Services, Inc., headquartered in Lexington Park, MD, won a Task Order under a multiple award contract this month with the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center (SSC) Pacific. The task order award is for for engineering services related to C-130T Communications Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) upgrades.

The C-130T Logistics Support Aircraft rapidly transports personnel and cargo to the Navy fleet for delivery by parachute or landing. The aircraft performs multiple missions, able to land and take off on short runways.

CTSi will provide the systems engineering required for selected C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) system development efforts. The task order addresses the C-130T Avionics Obsolescence Upgrade and CNS/ATM modifications.

CTSi has experience with the platforms such as the HC-130H, an extended-range, search and rescue aerial transport; C-2A/E-2C, a tactical, carrier-capable, twin-turboprop aircraft; and MH-53E, a long-range combat search and rescue helicopter. CTSi will utilize this experience to support SSC Pacific’s engineering development efforts. CTSi will provide trade-off analyses of current and projected navigation and C4ISR systems/equipment to ensure upgrade design capabilities meet platform tactical mission requirements.

After design decisions, CTSi will provide approved system schematics and routing drawings required to perform successful navigation system integration.

“We are very excited about this CNS/ATM task order award,” said Tom Sanders, CTSi’s Managing Director. “This signifies the value that SSC Pacific places on CTSi’s ability to help equip the C-130T with AOU and CNS/ATM modifications. It also recognizes and builds upon the synergy we have at CTSi with our NAVAIR Aircraft Prototype Facility (APF) engineering services. This is a great fit for us and we look forward to providing great service.”
