Panetta Praises Hoyer

When Defense Secretary Leon Panetta visited Naval Air Station Patuxent River this month to announce that the F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter was being taken off probation, he was introduced by Congressman Steny Hoyer. Hoyer noted that he has been friends with Panetta for 30 years and stated that “America is fortunate to have a person of his experience, his commitment, his patriotism and his political skill.” Panetta reciprocated, crediting him with helping and protecting Pax River and calling him “one of the most outstanding Members [of Congress] that I have had the honor to work with.”
