2020-1: Ethel Is Not My Favorite Osprey

In 2021, I gave snarky names to 10 Ospreys who spent their summers within range of my middling telescope and I needed a way to differentiate them. There were so many Osprey through 2023 their poop was a community issue. Then it wasn’t an issue anymore.

Wendell J. Chesser was 12 in 1920 when he began his “eternity” of “eight long years” working aboard his father’s pungy, the Joe Smith, out of St. George Island, MD.
