Student Athletes Honored at Banquet
The highest priorities for student athletes — athletic distinction, sportsmanship and academic success — were celebrated recently at the College of Southern Maryland’s annual athletic awards banquet at the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Center.
CSM’s Juwan Smith Named All American
Juwan Smith of Lexington Park, a basketball player at the College of Southern Maryland, is receiving major honors for his outstanding play with the Hawks this year. The sophomore starting point guard has been named Second Team National Junior College Athletic Association Division II All American, Second Team All-Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference, and First Team NJCAA Region XX.
CSM Hawks to Compete in National Tourney
The College of Southern Maryland Hawks are on their way to the national championship basketball tournament for National Junior College Athletic Association Division II, which will take place from March 20-24 in Danville, Illinois.
