The US Navy will now allow those without a high school diploma or GED to enlist as long as they reach a certain score on the Armed Forces Qualification Test. The service hopes these new standards will attract more prospects during its recruiting crisis.

GAO: Aircraft Readiness Not Meeting Goals

A Government Accountability Office report shows aircraft readiness in all branches of the military has gone from bad to worse. Among the report’s findings, some 24 aircraft have never met readiness goals in the nine years from 2011 through 2019.

Has F-35 JSF Turned a Corner?

The US Air Force declared its first squadron of F-35As ready for battle last week. The JSF was declared operational by the Marine Corps in July 2015; and the Navy aims for February 2019. The F-35 Lightning II might have finally turned a corner, overcoming the technical problems that have plagued its readiness to serve.
