November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month and MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital is helping Hospice of St. Mary’s County to urge residents to learn the importance of planning for the care they would want it they were facing a serious or life-limiting illness.
Artist Matus to Show Work at MedStar St. Mary’s
See the beautiful work of artist Bernard “Bernie” Matus at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland, this fall. The artist’s photos and digital designs have been put on display in the atrium of the hospital. If any of the pieces are sold, Mr. Matus will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the hospital foundation’s scholarship fund.
Breast Health Fair Set Oct. 18
The breast care team at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown provides St. Mary’s County with exceptional service and medical care. Learn about the team and get a wealth of information at the Breast Health Fair from 2:30 to 5:30 pm Oct. 18, 2016, at the College of Southern Maryland Leonardtown Campus. Celebrate Being a Cancer Survivor
National Cancer Survivors Day is Sunday, June 5, and MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital is joining the rest of the country in celebrating the event by hosting a free picnic on the lawn in front of the hospital at 1 pm that day.
County Places 10th in Health Rankings
St. Mary’s County ranks 10th in the state for health, according to the 2016 County Health Rankings by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, released recently and publicized by MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership newsletter.
