In 2021, I gave snarky names to 10 Ospreys who spent their summers within range of my middling telescope and I needed a way to differentiate them. There were so many Osprey through 2023 their poop was a community issue. Then it wasn’t an issue anymore.
Friday Summer Skate events are back at Leonard Hall Recreation Center in Leonardtown. The skate season continues through August 14, 2026.

The 2016 St. Mary’s County STEM Festival Nov. 5 offers brain aerobics for students. The event will be held at the county fairgrounds in Leonardtown, MD.
Southern Maryland Higher Education Center will present more than 90 degree programs from 10 universities from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at the center’s open house. SMHEC offers programs for bachelor completion degrees, doctorates, and more than 50 master’s degrees.
