Higher Ed Open House Set Nov. 2

Higher Ed Center

Southern Maryland Higher Education Center will present more than 90 degree programs from 10 universities from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at the center’s open house. The higher ed center offers programs for bachelor completion degrees, doctorates, and more than 50 master’s degrees.

The campus of the center is located at 44219 Airport Road in California, MD.

Students can take classes for all of the academic programs at the center. Degree programs include engineering and technology; education; social work; management and business; criminal justice; and nursing. Classes are offered in the evenings and Saturdays to make room for adult schedules. This allows students to take classes from world-class universities right here in Southern Maryland.

Open house participants can talk to representatives from 10 of the universities that offer classes through SMHEC. This can give potential students a chance to get a better understanding of what degree completion will entail, from what types of courses are needed to how much it might cost. Talking to a representative can give a potential student the peace of mind of walking away with an education plan, and the empowerment of knowing what it will take to get it done.

To learn more about the open house, call SMHEC at 301-737-2500, or visit its website, listed above, for details on the 90 degrees. Attend the SMHEC open house Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, from 4 to 7 pm.
