HEZ corner finalWhen Lexington Park was named one of the five Maryland Health Enterprise Zones the need for a community medical center in the under-served Lexington Park community became a priority. The Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital provided the leadership to develop the  Lexington Park’s HEZ. With its consortium partners, the hospital will target asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, and behavioral health conditions.

Included among the HEZ private industry partners is Cherry Cove Development which will be constructed the new 45,870-square-foot medical center building at the MD Rt. 237 and MD Rt. 246 intersection, with dedicated parking for low-emission vehicles and two charging stations for electric vehicles.
