Citizens Appointed to County Boards

Erik Anderson has been reappointed to the St. Mary’s County Airport Advisory Committee, serving a term that will end in 2018. Anderson was just one of many St. Mary’s County citizens who served on various county boards, commissions, and committees. The latest group were approved by the county commissioners on Dec. 8 and their appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2016.

On the Board of Appeals, William Greene was reappointed for a term that ends Dec. 31, 2018.

The Board of Trustees Museum Division includes Bryan Barthelme, a reappointment, until Dec. 31, 2019, and reappointments effective until Dec. 31, 2020, including Patricia Friend, Victor Govier, Eleanor Slater, and Dale Springer.

Appointments to the Commission for People with Disabilities are effective until Dec. 31, 2019, and include Andrea Butler and Elizabeth Snyder.

The Commission for Women has two reappointments that are effective until Dec. 31, 2018: Diane Danaher and Kathleen Werner. Erin Walker received a partial appointment until June 30, 2016, and Karen Wathen received a partial appointment until June 30, 2018.

Deborah Johnstone was reappointed to the Commission on Aging, effective until Dec. 31, 2018.

Richard Braam and Phil Langley were reappointed to the Economic Development Commission, effective until Dec. 31, 2018.

Reappointments to the Electrical Examiners Board, effective until Dec. 31, 2019, include Ron Derby, James “Danny” Johnson, Donald Haskin, and Rudolph Worch.

David Willenborg was appointed to the Ethics Commission, effective until Dec. 31, 2018.

Tina Dean was reappointed to the Housing Authority Board, effective until Dec. 31, 2020.

Sean Wickers was appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission, effective until Dec. 31, 2018.

Appointments to the Planning Commission are effective until Dec. 31, 2020, and include Daniel Ichniowski, Joseph VanKirk, and Hal Williard, a reappointment.

Scott Bacon was appointed to the Agriculture, Seafood & Forestry Board for a term that will end Dec. 31, 2018.

Robert Russell was reappointed to the Metropolitan Commission Board for a term that will end Dec. 31, 2018.

Helen Wernecke was appointed to the Southern Maryland Tri-County Council for a one-year term.

The Recreation and Parks Board appointments are effective until Dec. 31, 2019, and include Valarie Brosky, Richard Buckler, a reappointment, and Thomas Nelson, a reappointment. Fred Parker was appointed as a partial member and his term will expire Dec. 31, 2018.

Mary Ann Murray was appointed to the Retiree Benefit Trust of St. Mary’s, until Dec. 31, 2018.

David Phalen was appointed to the Wicomico Shores Golf Course Advisory Board, effective until Dec. 31, 2019.
