Just about everyone has one or more chronic health conditions that impact daily living.

The key is managing the symptoms. “Living Well with Chronic Conditions” is the Stanford University Chronic Disease Self Management Program offered as a HealthLink resource. You and your loved ones will learn skills to manage your symptoms so that you can live your life your way.

Topics covered include stress management, goal setting, managing the symptom cycle, communication skills, working with your healthcare provider, proper nutrition, managing medications, and fitness, as well as techniques for better breathing

Training will be provided by MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital – HealthLink, Tuesday evenings 6 – 8:30 pm beginning March 25 through April 29. Meetings will be held on the second floor of The Gateways building, 21155 Lexwood Dr., Lexington Park, MD 20653.  Directional signs indoors will lead you to the meeting room.

The Living Well workshop has a minimum of 10 participants. Class size is limited and registration is required. A waiting list will be compiled for those unable to secure a place in the March-April class. Call Health Connections at (301) 475-6019 to reserve a spot.

This program is sponsored by the Health Enterprise Zone (HEZ).
