Wreckage of Lexington Park Namesake Found off Australian Coast

Lexington

Wreckage from the USS Lexington was found this week off Australia. Sunk in 1942 during the Battle of the Coral Sea Battle, in its honor the Navy renamed the civilian neighborhood it had built outside the gate of Patuxent River Naval Air Station to Lexington Park from Jarboesville.

Centennial Marketing Focuses on Where It All Started

Businesses and organizations are purchasing banners celebrating 100 years of naval aviation and slated to festoon SMECO poles coming out both the Main Gate and Gate Two of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
