William and Janet Cave have been married for 63 years, and have never missed a Valentine’s Day together. This year, however, they might have spent it apart if not for the kindness and creativity of staff at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.

Phull Joins MedStar Staff, Helps Children Breathe Easier
Dr. Gurpreet Phull has joined the MedStar Medical Group. He is seeing patients at MedStar’s Charlotte Hall facility. Dr. Phull joins MedStar in urging parents to understand the best ways to help children cope with asthma and pulmonary problems in the winter.
Tobacco-Free Team Meets Feb. 21
MedStar St. Mary’s supports the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership’s Tobacco-Free Living Action Team, which will meet 10 to 11:30 am Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at the St. Mary’s County Health Department.
Community Wellness Day Set at Park
The Minority Outreach Coalition, supported by MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, is planning a Community Wellness Day for Feb. 11. The location is set for the Loffler Senior Activity at Chancellor’s Run Park at 21905 Chancellors Run Road in Great Mills.

MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital supports the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership’s Access to Care Action Team, which will meet from 3 to 4 pm Feb. 14, 2017, at the hospital’s multipurpose room.
MedStar Designated as Baby-Friendly
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown has received a prestigious international honor. The hospital has been recognized as a Baby-Friendly Designated birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA, part of a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund.
