Dunaway Opens “New Defense Environment” Panel

VADM David Dunaway, Commander, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) will offer the keynote presentation, “NAVAIR Update: Adapting to a New Defense Environment” before introducing a panel of NAVAIR Senior Leadership  at a Sept. 24, 2014 briefing presented by The Association of Naval Aviation’s Squadron #18 and The Patuxent Partnership.

The panelists will be discussing  AIRWORKS, Additive Manufacturing, Open Architecture, Weapons Modularity and Integrated Warfighting Capability (IWC).

The reception opens at 5 pm at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum at 22156 Three Notch Rd., Lexington Park, MD 20653. The panel begins at 5:30 and concludes at 7 pm.

“We value opportunities such as these to share our successes and challenges,” said VADM Dunaway. “These panels help us provide context for our neighbors and industry partners. These are extraordinary times for naval aviation and it’s important to understand how we are striking the proper balance between smaller budgets, process and innovation—while preserving airworthiness and safety of flight.”

Panelists will include several senior NAVAIR leaders discussing the topics of AIRWORKS, Additive Manufacturing, Open Architecture, Weapons Modularity, and Integrated Warfighting Capability.

Attire is Business Casual/Military uniform of the day.
