Not Waiting for EUL

Capt. Stephen Schmeiser, commander of Naval Air Station Patuxent River, will hand over command of the base to his successor next week. On Monday, he sat down with local reporters to answer questions about his career, retirement, accomplishments and time at Pax River.

This is the second of five videos taken from that interview. Schmeiser says that the base’s plan to lease 42 acres on seven sites at Pax River to a private developer to construct office space, known as the Enhanced Use Lease program, is currently undergoing source selection. However, he said that base officials are not sitting around waiting for the EUL to solve the base’s workspace shortage.
