The St. Mary’s County commissioners will host a public forum at 6:30pm Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in the Chesapeake Building at 41770 Baldridge St. in Leonardtown.
St. Mary’s County community members are invited to submit a healthy recipe by August 31 to be included in the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership’s virtual community cookbook.
The Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership has launched the annual More to Explore program. Visit local parks, farmers markets, and historical sites to collect codewords until September 7, 2026.
Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative is refunding members’ capital credits totaling nearly $7 million. Of that total, a general refund of approximately $4.6 million will be issued in July.

Do you know who your Delegate is? Two of St. Mary’s County Legislative Districts have significantly changed shape. Incumbent Delegate Brian Crosby will no longer represent the Piney Point peninsula. Legislative District 29C still covers Leonardtown but has added from Callaway south to St. George Island for the 2022 elections: Primary July 19; General Election Nov. 8, 2022.
The Republican Primary on July 19, 2022, will elect nine of the 13 St. Mary’s County officeholders. Actually only 11 local offices are up for grabs, two incumbent Republicans have no challengers. This leaves four elected county offices offering voters a choice of two candidates in November. Plus voters in the south and middle of the county will also have a choice in November for Delegate. The incumbent in the north faces no challenger nor does the St. Mary’s state senator.
The Patuxent Partnership and the Association of Naval Aviation will present “Navy International Programs: Expanding Global Aviation Partnerships for Integrated Deterrence” on May 24 featuring keynote speaker RDML Anthony “Tony” Rossi.
