Meet a C-2 Greyhound @ Pax River Museum

Greyhound

Every other month the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum gives the public an opportunity to visit the museum and get up close with an aircraft at the “Meet the Airplane” event.

In November, the museum is joined by PMA-231, the E-2/C-2 community, for a chance to “meet” the C-2 Greyhound, from noon to 4 pm Saturday, November 7, 2015.

This aircraft is celebrating 50 years of special deliveries.

Admission to the museum is free. There will be fun games for kids to play, and if visitors bring a nonperishable food item to donate, they can earn free flight time in the flight simulators.

At 2 pm, the C-2 aircrew and PMA-231 folks will talk about the C-2. This aircraft has flown some interesting missions, like transporting a baby whale, supplies for natural disasters, special operations force and movie stars – but not all at the same time, of course.

Visitors will have a chance to win an art print by Hank Caruso through a raffle.

Caruso is an aviation artist. “Trained as both an artist and engineer, Hank Caruso’s familiarity with aviation technology and aircraft operations enable him to convincingly show how flight crews feel about their aircraft and how the aircraft feel about themselves. His careful draftsmanship and attention to detail add a strong sense of realism to his dynamic portrayals of each aircraft’s unique personality,” according to his website.

Enjoy the entire museum while learning about this airplane. Food will be available for purchase.
This event is a perfect opportunity for the entire family to better understand what the C-2 Greyhound and PMA-231 are all about. These entities have an impact in both Southern Maryland and around the world.
