Intro to On-Line War Game Coming to Lex Park

Massive Multiplayer On-Line War Game Leveraging the Internet is coming to town.

The Patuxent Partnership will sponsor Dale Moore, Director, NAVAIR Strategic Initiative Coordination & Execution and Assistant to Commander, NAWCAD for Strategic Operations and Karen Cooper, Research Scientist, NAWCAD Strategic Cell, Code 5.0e, NAWCAD to discuss the game.

Seating is limited to the first 50 registrants for the this August 7, 2014 discussion in the ongoing Strategic Thinking “Brown Bag” Series.
There is no cost for this program. Bring your bagged lunch.  Doors open at 11 am.

The game is sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and reffered to as MMOWGLI.  It is a message-based game to encourage innovative thinking by many people to expand engagement in military and non-military strategy development for complex geopolitical problems. It has been used to study a number of topics including a focus on the future of piracy and also how the Navy can prepare for the future of energy.

The internet portal describes the  MMOWGLI project as a new kind of war game. These characteristics call for a new kind of war game that can engage diverse players from across many organizations and ranks, both in the United States and beyond.

The Patuxent Partnership invites Members and the regional community to the introduction to Massive Multiplayer On-Line War Game Leveraging the Internet (MMOLWGLI) Thursday, August 7, 2014. Check in opens at 11 am with the briefing beginning at 11:15 am and concluding at 12:30 pm. The program will be held at Sabre Systems, 3rd Floor Conference Room, 46655 Expedition Dr, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
