Ms. Story’s Living History, one-woman theatrical performance, will be offered at Historic St. Mary’s City at 6pm Friday, February 20, 2026.

Created and performed by historical interpreter Shemika Renee, Ms. Story’s Living History brings to life the stories of women who impacted our nation through their bravery, determination, hopes, and dreams.

Told through the perspective of Ms. Story, a quirky bookstore owner, the performance introduces audiences to remarkable women whose contributions are not always widely known, while gradually uncovering the mystery behind Ms. Story herself.

Renee, an actress and historical performer with more than 20 years of experience, is known throughout the region for humanizing history through first-person interpretation. Her performances portray both well-known and lesser-known women.

The two-hour program includes a 15-minute intermission and celebrates the stories and contributions of Black Marylanders through engaging historical storytelling.

The performance is presented with support from the Historic St. Mary’s City Foundation, with proceeds benefiting Historic St. Mary’s City’s educational and interpretive programs.

Tickets are $17 – $20 and are available through Eventbrite here.
