Hoyer Praises MD for Vets Full Employment Act

Congressman Steny Hoyer commended the Maryland General Assembly and Governor O’Malley for signing the Maryland’s Veteran Full Employment Act of 2013.
The Act will enable Maryland service members, veterans and their families to procure employment by applying their military skills towards civilian certifications, licenses and academic credits needed to enter the civilian workforce.
“At a time when the unemployment rate for veterans remains unacceptably high, this is an important step to support the men and women who have served our nation.” said Congressman Hoyer.
Congressman Hoyer also commended First Lady Michelle Obama, who was present at the signing, for her championship of such bills.
Thirteen states including Maryland have taken legislative or executive action to help our servicemen and women gain the civilian credentials needed to succeed in the workforce.
