How to Help Our Veterans

 

The Patuxent Partnership wishes to  thanks TPP members and the members of the Southern Maryland community for attending our 2015 Annual Meeting on Oct. 28, 2015.

As a result of Operation: Tohidu’s and Greenwell Foundation’s presentations, we have received an overwhelming number of requests from companies and individuals asking how they can support our veterans, either through volunteering or with a tax deductible donation. The Greenwell Foundation

The Greenwell Foundation provides accessible and inclusive programs, services and facilities at Greenwell State Park, a 600-acre property located along the lower Patuxent River in Hollywood, Maryland.   The Greenwell Foundation is developing veterans programs designed to offer vets the opportunity to enjoy their recreational and therapeutic program, including  Veterans’ Fund to help support our vets riding horses, kayaking, and participating in “Vets Helping Vets,” a program that brings together younger vets with residents of the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Operation: Tohidu

Operation Tohidu addresses the needs of veterans and active duty members who have been formally diagnosed or are self-reporting with PTS(d), TBI, anxiety, depression, or substance abuse disorders resulting from eployment-related trauma.

The rehabilitation program is  designed for a growing population of warfighters living with post-traumatic stress, mild-to-moderate traumatic brain injury and other deployment-related issues. A holistic retreat, Operation: Tohidu, allows veterans to share a common experience and heal in a safe environment. If you would like to donate to Operation: Tohidu checks can be made payable to Melwood with a note in the memo line indicating Operation: Tohidu and can be mailed to 5606 Dower House Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 or donate online.
