Hope Fading for Sequestration Deal in March

Connecticut’s Rep. Joe Courtney, a member of the House armed services committee, tells AOL Defense that he has given up hope of there being a compromise to avoid sequestration. Adm. William Gortney, head of US Fleet Forces Command, tells AOL Defense that he is “terrified” of the impact sequestration will have on Navy operations. Aviation Week says defense cuts are likely, but the targets are unknown.

Obama has issued an executive order to end the federal pay freeze in March, but Rep. Ron DeSantis has proposed a bill to extend it through the rest of 2013, according to Government Executive.
