About half of sailors and Marines forced out for being gay received honorable discharge which leaves their health and educational benefits intact.

Thirty forgotten veterans are laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, reports The Associated Press. The urns held cremated remains of veterans back to World War II, no next of kin, forgotten, or whose families did not know they were eligible for a military burial, said Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards who spoke at the ceremony.

Four multinational flotillas are on their way toward Hawaii for RIMPAC, the biennial Rim of the Pacific exercise, but Brazil is not among them, reports Military.com.

Contracts:

Atlantic Contracting & Material Co. Inc., Upper Marlboro, MD, is being awarded an $11,320,995 firm-fixed-price contract for the repair of SP Area and SP 37 Airfield pavement onboard Naval Station Norfolk. The work to be performed provides for the replacement of existing airfield parking apron pavement. The existing concrete/bituminous pavement will be demolished to subgrade and replaced with new concrete pavement. Additional new work associated with this project includes pavement stripping, aircraft tie-downs, static grounding, and incidental related work. Work will be performed in Norfolk, VA, and is expected to be completed by November 2017.  Fiscal 2016 operation and maintenance (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $11,320,995 are obligated on this award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with two proposals received.  The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, VA, is the contracting activity (N40085-16-C-6148).

RKF Engineering Solutions, Washington, DC, was competitively awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the Defense Spectrum Organization Electromagnetic Spectrum Services Applied Engineering Support – Mobile Service Provider. The period of performance for the contract is June 27, 2016, to June 26, 2017, with four one-year option periods. Performance will be at Annapolis, MD, and Fort George G. Meade, MD. The contract ceiling is $19,748,827 for the lifecycle of the contract, such that the ceiling for the first year of performance would be the entire $19,748,827 if the option periods are not exercised. The contract consists of firm-fixed-price, and cost reimbursable contract line item numbers. Proposals were solicited via FedBizOpps.gov, and seven proposals were received. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization – National Capital Region is the contracting activity (HC1047-16-D-0011).
