New Ass’t. Principals at Greenview Knolls & Banneker

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, has announced administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of Dec. 12.

The Board appointed Emily Mais as Assistant Principal of Greenview Knolls Elementary School. Ms. Mais joined St. Mary’s County Public Schools in August 2005 as an Art teacher at Dynard Elementary School. She has also served most recently as Acting Assistant Principal at Greenview Knolls Elementary. Ms. Mais holds a Bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University and a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland.  She earned her Administrative certification from Towson University.

Christopher Dyson was appointed as Assistant Principal of Benjamin Banneker Elementary School. Mr. Dyson joined St. Mary’s County Public Schools in August 2002 as a Special Education Para Educator at Green Holly Elementary. He has also served as a Special Education teacher at Green Holly Elementary and Elementary Education teacher at Dynard Elementary. He is currently an Elementary Education teacher at Evergreen Elementary. Mr. Dyson holds a Bachelor’s degree from High Point University and a Master’s degree from Walden University.  He earned his Administrative certification from Towson University.

These appointments are effective immediately.
