In accordance with Section 113-5 of the Public Laws of St Mary’s County, the St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission (MetCom) will hold a Public Hearing to discuss the MD 235 to Airport Road Water Main Connector Project No. 8125WM.

The project will connect the existing water main located on the east side of MD 235 along the property frontage of the Chesapeake Inn and Lenny’s Restaurant, under MD 235, to the existing water main located on Airport Road adjacent to the Outback Restaurant parking. The project will provide a water system loop that will improve flows and improve system reliability. The design is being performed concurrently with the MD 235 Roadway Expansion Project for Wildewood Subdivision.

The project will include the installation of approximately 1,050 linear feet of 12-inch water main along with three (3) new fire hydrants and two (2) new service connections, and will include water main appurtenances and site restoration. The work to be accomplished is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2014. The estimated total project cost for this water line installation is $478,250.

The Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 6:30 pm at the Commission’s offices, 23121 Camden Way, California, MD. The proposed contract documents, which include plans and specifications, can be inspected at the time of the hearing or at MetCom’s Engineering Department office location, noted above, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
