New NAVAIR Commander Vice Adm. David Dunaway lays out three priorities for his tenure at Pax River – reduce program turnaround time, deliver interoperable capabilities and reduce maintenance and operating costs – according to Rear Adm. Randy Mahr’s official NAWCAD blog.

The Pentagon’s Comptroller says DoD has a reasonable chance of ducking sequestration cuts, according to The Hill. He does not expect to incur contract cancellation fees, reduce military forces or permanently lay off civilian federal workers under sequestration, according to AOL Defense. However, he says Congress’ continuing resolution will cause the Pentagon to lose vital spending authority on several projects, Defense News reports.

Sikorsky is closing its upstate New York plant and laying off 750 workers, The Hill reports.
