New STS Bus Routes Begin Oct. 1
As a part of approved Maryland Transit Administration’s Transportation Development Plan recommendations, the St. Mary’s Transit System will implement new STS public transit routes to make service more efficient, easier to understand, and more convenient.
Several routes will be joined together in order to reduce the number of transfers riders must make. Routes will connect with each other at Tulagi Place in Lexington Park, the Governmental Center in Leonardtown, and at the Food Lion in Charlotte Hall. These changes take effect Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Descriptions of the enhanced routes and the respective bus schedules will be distributed on the buses. They will also be available at the St. Mary’s Transit System office, 44829 St. Andrews Church Road, California, during regular business hours. The proposed routes and schedules may be found on the county’s website. Some riders may experience minor changes in bus schedules during the initial implementation of the new routes.
