ANNAPOLIS, MD – Delegate John Bohanan announced final adoption of the State’s Operating Budget on Saturday which includes an additional $10 million of immediate relief for pot hole repairs, an issue intensified by the county’s unusually harsh winter.

St. Mary’s county share of the local Highway User Revenue (HUR) in the 2015 fiscal year was a total of $785,018.  In addition to this sum, based on lane miles information, St. Mary’s was allocated $268,588 for potholes repair.  These sums bring the county’s total HUR sum to $1,053,606, a 39.3 percent increase compared to fiscal 2014’s total sum of $758,232.

As per the Appropriations Committee’s agreement with Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Jim Smith, the additional $268,588 will be allocated within the 2014 fiscal year.

Leonardtown will receive $31,306 from HUR as well as $70,845 from an additional grant.  Such allocations bring Leonardtown a total sum of $102,151 for the 2015 fiscal year.
