Sotterley Presents: “Women of Sotterley”
The Women of Sotterley come back to life for this month’s signature “2nd Saturday” event May 11 during a walking tour of the plantation.
This month, discover the women who made the plantation run behind the scenes. During this 90-minute tour, attendees will learn about the extraordinary lives of the women who lived on the grounds, from the mistress of the house to the enslaved servants and everyone in between. Find out what it meant to be the farm manager’s wife, or what life was like for an heiress.
Tours take place rain or shine, and walking is required so please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing.
The tour is scheduled for 3pm. Advance registration is required and tours are limited to 20 participants. It is requested that all participants arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tour time and check in at the Warehouse.
Tickets are $15 per person, and can be purchased online.
