Sessions Announced for ENOUGH Initiative

In May, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore signed the Engaging Neighborhoods, Organizations, Unions, Governments, and Households (ENOUGH) Act into law.
The act mandates community partners work together to address childhood poverty. The Governor’s Office for Children has allocated money to assist local jurisdictions as they put this into action. The St. Mary’s County Local Management Board will host capacity building opportunities to local community-based organizations working in the Lexington Park, Great Mills community which has been identified as the area with the highest concentration of poverty in St. Mary’s County.
The Strengthening Local Capacity, Supporting Children Living in Poverty: A Project of the Governor’s ENOUGH Initiative is designed to elevate the voices of small and community-based organizations, enhance existing partnerships and create new ones, and build CBOs capacity to serve local families.
From January to June 2025, the SMC LMB will hold monthly meetings with community-based organizations to better understand the needs of these organizations to better support children and families living in poverty.
Meetings will be held at the Carver Recreation Center in Lexington Park, MD, from 9 to 11am on the following dates:
- March 26, 2025
- April 30, 2025
- May 21, 2025
