Save the Date: TPP Brown Bag Lunch Series Sept. 24
Save the Date — September 24, 2024 — for The Patuxent Partnership‘s brown bag lunchtime presentation with Dale Moore, Ed. D on the topic “Leading the Next Generation DoD Innovation Ecosystem.” The program will be held at ASEC at 46561 Expedition Drive in Lexington Park, MD.
Doors open at 11:30am. The talk begins at noon.
Is your company interested in hosting a high school apprentice next year? The Patuxent Partnership’s SoMD 2030 initiative is focused on building up the Southern Maryland’s STEM pipeline, increasing career opportunities, and expanding partnerships with government, industry, and academia.
TPP is working with St. Mary’s College of Maryland, College of Southern Maryland, St. Mary’s, Charles and Calvert County Public Schools, as well as other schools, industry, and Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division.

The Apprenticeship Maryland Program/Tech Jobs Rule and the Dr. James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center welcome local companies to participate in the Youth Apprenticeship Program. TPP wants to increase the number of apprentices and business partners for the 2024-25 school year.
The Forrest Tech Center is working to place students in apprenticeship positions. Calvert and Charles counties are also in discussion for 2024-25. Companies in St. Mary’s County that wish to participate in the upcoming school year, please complete the 2024-2025 Youth Apprentice Industry Request Form here.

About The Patuxent Partnership
The Patuxent Partnership is a nonprofit member organization that fosters collaboration between government, industry, and academia to advance education through STEM-based initiatives; to advance technology through speaker programs, forums, and networking; to advance science and technology transfer through the exchange of ideas, information, and data related to technologies; and to increase workforce development through an array of initiatives.
SoMD 2030 is focused on building a STEM pipeline, increasing career opportunities. This collaborative effort is funded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division. The Patuxent Partnership is accomplishing the work under an agreement with NAWCAD, working with St. Mary’s College of Maryland, College of Southern Maryland, area public school systems, as well as other schools, industry, and NAWCAD. SoMD 2030 connects talented students with paid apprenticeships and internships.
