Sabre Systems, Inc., a professional information technology (IT) and engineering services company is pleased to announce that Leonardtown High School senior, Ms. Katlyn Lyon of  St. Mary’s County, Md., was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to Stevenson University in recognition of her outstanding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) accomplishments.

Ms. Lyon was presented with her award on Friday, May 24, 2013, by Sabre Group Vice President Glen Ives. According to Mr. Ives, “Sabre found a truly deserving student in [Katlyn]. She has proven that she knows how to set goals and achieve them. Her academic record is superb; and her work ethic, vision, determination, commitment, and sense of purpose align perfectly with Sabre’s own core values.”

The Sabre STEM scholarship program was launched earlier this year in an effort help steer students into these curriculum by helping reduce the financial barriers to attend college.  Sabre will award a total of six $1,000 non-renewable scholarships to deserving students in locations where the company has a major presence.
