Congress delays sequestration long after the 11th hour, Aviation Week reports. Washington Business Journal says the deal was ugly. Defense News says we’re going to repeat the drama again in two months. The deal offsets half the cost of sequestration with cuts to both defense and non-defense programs, The Washington Post reports. Government Executive says the deal sets the stage for a series of mini-cliffs. The Navy Times warns that the deal may increase the pain of later defense cuts. AOL Defense argues that a more corrupt Congress would have done a better job fixing sequestration.

The Navy moves to purchase up to 72 P-8A Poseidons, FlightGlobal reports.

Rep. Barney Frank opposes the nomination of Chuck Hagel as defense secretary because of gay slurs he made in 1998, The Hill reports.
