PMA-251, SoMD Tech Bridge to Present Tide Talks

PMA-251 and the SoMD Tech Bridge will join with NAWCAD Lakehurst and the Liberty Tech Bridge for Tide Talks from 1 to 2pm January 22. The Patuxent Partnership is helping to publicize the event.

Join the collaborative dialogue between the NavalX Liberty Tech Bridge at Rowan University and the NavalX Southern Maryland Tech Bridge at TechPort, featuring CAPT Mike Kline, program manager of the Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Program Office (PMA-251), and Joseph Hader, program director department head of Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment.

They will discuss the relationship between PMA-251 and NAWCAD Lakehurst and give valuable insights into how industry can support ALRE and the warfighter.

PMA-251 provides life-cycle acquisition management for US Navy and Marine Corps systems and equipment utilized for the launch and recovery of current and future fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. ALRE products include catapults, arresting gear, helicopter landing systems, wind measuring systems, aviation-based information systems, aviation marking and lighting, recovery systems and visual landing aids, aircraft firefighting equipment, and expeditionary airfield systems and related products.

NAWCAD Lakehurst is the Navy’s engineering support activity for ALRE and Naval Aviation Support Equipment. It is the critical link between naval aviation and Navy Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups worldwide. NAWCAD Lakehurst is responsible for maintaining fleet support and infusing modern technology across the entire spectrum of equipment needed to launch, land, and maintain aircraft from ships at sea.

There will be no FAR acquisition information shared during the event, nor information on any projects currently under contract.

In-person attendance at each location will be limited to 45 (first-come, first-served) with an additional virtual option, where viewers can ask questions in the chat. The format for the event is interactive rather than a one-way sharing of information.
