Driving, putting, fun, and networking are back again as Leadership Southern Maryland celebrates its annual golf tournament Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Chesapeake Hills Golf Course in Lusby. Team and individual registrations are available.
The St. Mary’s County commissioners and the commanding officer of Naval Air Station Pax River will hold a joint meeting at 9am Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum.
Visitors planning to attend some Maryland state parks are required to make reservations prior to arrival at the park.
Applications are being sought from specialized medical professionals to serve on the St. Mary’s County Adult Public Guardianship Review Board. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

At the April 30 Tide Talk presented by Southern Maryland and Ventura Tech Bridges, experts will discuss their roles within the Naval Aviation Enterprise, how they collaborate, and the ways they work with industry and academia to solve problems to support the warfighter.
Uncertainty can be hard on both kids and adults. When the world feels unpredictable, emotional connection and empathy become powerful tools. To help, Walden Wise has created an easy-to-digest mini-course called Empathy Matters.
More than 700 students from 17 schools participated in the third annual SPARK! Student Career Awareness Fair on March 13. The career fair is part of The Patuxent Partnership’s SoMD 2030 workforce development initiative, funded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division.
