Mother’s Day is quickly approaching!  We have two events to consider when planning your weekend to honor Mom.

On Saturday, May 11th at 3:00 p.m. we have our final 2nd Saturday Series of the season Women of Sotterley.  Learn about the extraordinary women that lived and worked on the Plantation, from the mistress of the house to the enslaved servants. Advanced reservations and walking are required.  $15 per person, purchase tickets online:  www.sotterley.org.

In addition, we are pleased to announce a special gift for all mothers on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2013. From Noon ~ 4 p.m., mothers will receive the Guided Tour of the 1703 Plantation House at HALF PRICE!  Our wonderful Garden Guild will also have an assortment of reasonably priced herbs and perennial plants available for sale from Noon until 4 p.m.  Treat Mom to flowers she can appreciate for years to come!

While on site, we welcome your family to stroll the exquisite blooming gardens, walk the plantation grounds and nature trails, see the historic outbuildings including our original 1830’s Slave Cabin, or picnic out on the lawn while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Patuxent River. Top off the day with buying a memorable gift at the Museum Shop, located in the Visitor Center. It will be a day she will never forget!
